Meet our newest Touch Tuina practitioner Tyler

Let’s introduce you to Tyler!

We have many talented practitioners working at Touch Tuina, so we like to keep everyone up to date with our newest arrivals. Meet Touch Tuina practitioner Tyler, one of our most recent and popular additions!

What did you do before becoming a Tuina practitioner?

‘Before becoming a Touch Tuina practitioner I was, and still am, a semi-pro athlete, sports therapist and an NHS physiotherapy assistant.’

What inspired you to become a Touch Tuina practitioner Tyler and how long have you been involved?

‘I initially got into Tui Na when I was just about to turn 19 years old. I was at a basketball academy and I tore my right Achilles. At the time, my auntie was working at Touch Tuina. She told me once it had healed up to come and see Errol and Mariana. I haven’t looked back since and took up my studies last year and finished in April of this year. So I’ve been with Touch Tuina for ten years overall, but in terms of actually practicing, just over a year and a bit.’

What types of clients do you treat?

‘From my experience, I’ve worked with a lot of athletes, the elderly and neurodivergent individuals. Specifically, I specialise in sports injuries from my sports therapy background, but I do work with the general public too. Anyone that works 9-5, amateur athletes, marathon runners, or people that are just trying to have a better quality of life.’

Why do you think everyone should try a Tuina treatment?

‘I feel like Tui na stands apart from other treatment modalities for several reasons. Firstly, its performed fully clothed (through a sheet) which helps people feel at ease. Second, it takes a very hands-on, holistic approach. Rather than simply prescribing exercises and sending someone on their way, it focuses on treating the whole person.

At the same time, Tui Na empowers people with the confidence. Also, tools to support their recovery outside the clinic, while ensuring they feel comfortable and cared for during the treatment. It’s also worth noting that Tui Na has been practiced for over 2,000 years. It’s a much longer history than many other therapies. This speaks to the trust and effectiveness it has earned over time.’

If you’d like to book an appointment with Touch Tuina Practitioner Tyler, he works at the Kentish Town Clinic on Mondays 11-6pm and Tuesdays 11-4pm. So just get in touch to reserve your spot!
