You’re probably familiar with the foam roller but what if we told you there was a version that you can take everywhere with you?! The Touch Tuina Tui Ball literally fits in your pocket! It’s a myofascial release that can be used all over the body to ease tension in your muscles and help alleviate pain.
How do you use the Tui Ball?

The first use we’ll demonstrate is up against the wall. Let’s say you have some tension in your shoulder that you want to release – with your back against the wall, place the tui ball between the wall and the shoulder area and just press. Move it along the area that feels stiff and you’ll be able to feel the tension subside. You can adjust the pressure depending on the desired intensity as some areas will be more tender than others. If you’d like even more pressure, you can lay on the floor, place the the Tui Ball underneath and let your body weight work for you. It’s also great to use in the lower back area, either against the wall or laying down.
For other areas such as legs, seated works really well. For example glutes, you can either sit on the ball or you can use your hands to apply pressure to the area needed. Bear in mind that glutes are often a really tender area, so be careful not to apply too much pressure. Quads are another great area to target, often people get discomfort around their knees because the quads get really tight, so what you can do is use one or two hands on top of each other in a circular motion to massage the area.
