Let’s meet Touch Tuina Practitioner Margo and find out how she started her journey…
What did you do before becoming a Tuina practitioner?
I’m a mother first and foremost. Before Tuina I was kindergarten teacher, in the Steiner school. In 2015, at the crossroads in my life, I was planning to either become Wim Hof’s method instructor or an Acupuncturist. Neither of those could happen at that time and I started to study Shiatsu in the London college of Shiatsu instead. I also gained qualifications in Holistic Massage.
When I found the Touch Tuina clinic, it offered a course I’d been seeking for a while, so I signed up. That was in 2022 and I’ve here ever since.
What inspired you to become involved with Tuina?
I’d already studied TCM for 3 years in Shiatsu College, plus I’d been practicing Martial Arts and my teacher was using Tuina in his clinic. However, he wasn’t teaching it, so I found Errol’s Student to Master program and signed up.
How long did it take to train? How long have you been a practitioner?
Student to Master consists of one year’s foundation, one year of advanced and a lifetime of mastering.
What do you like about working with Errol & Mariana?
They’re very down to earth people, very knowledgeable and they create a relaxed atmosphere where everyone can be themselves. They bring out the best in people.
What types of clients do you treat?
I treat everyone.
Why do you think everyone should try a Tuina treatment?
Because it’s a holistic treatment that can be addressed to anyone’s needs, and everyone will find something that will help their body. It follows the energy channels in the individual, so a sportsperson will have a different type of treatment to an elderly person, or someone with injuries, and so on. It’s really good for everyone, even children.
Are there specific treatment areas you specialise in?
I specialise in well-being and I’m using all the methods I’ve learnt to help the body to restore balance and return to health. I use Tuina, scalp and ear acupuncture and acupressure. I use the knowledge of TCM, combined with western knowledge of Anatomy and Physiology.
Do you have any favourite success stories with clients?
Each person that experiences improvement in health after a treatment is a success story!
