Touch Tuina Founder Errol Lynch suffers a Stroke

We’d like to reassure everyone that Errol is OK, and making remarkable progress in his recovery. As part of his quest in sharing his knowledge of how to attain and maintan better health, Errol wanted to document and share his experiences of dealing with this unexpected event and his journey to recovery. This is his story…

As anyone that has had the pleasure of meeting him or being treated by him will know, Errol Lynch, senior practitioner & co-founder of Touch Tuina, has always been a person that loves his work. As well as doing full days at the clinics, his dedication and determination often sees him working late into the evenings and full weekends, treating patients from all walks of life and helping them to recover from injuries and maintain healthy existences.

On the morning of Saturday 18th January 2025, Errol was treating patients at the Kentish Town clinic as usual, when he suffered a stroke. Errol’s stroke was an inter cerebral haemorrhage, leading directly to the brain tissue. The severity of a haemorrhagic stroke, which occurs when a weakened blood vessel ruptures leading to bleeding in or around the brain, is often more severe and more life-threatening than an ischemic stoke, which is caused by blood clots.

They account for 10-15% of all strokes, have a higher risk of death and disability and often require emergency treatment, sometimes including surgery. The bleeding that occurs increases pressure on the brain tissue, damaging brain cells, and can lead to significant neurological impairment.

Following his stroke, Errol was immediately taken by ambulance to The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery. During his stay, fellow practitioners including Peter, Adrian, Andrew, Issie, Ann-Marie, Angelika, Dahl and Margot, as well as practitioners from the York clinics, all came to give intensive Tuina treatments. These continued when after a few weeks he was moved to St Pancras Hospital for physiotherapy rehabilitation.

As soon as his recovery began, Errol knew that he wanted it to be documented, in the hope that it could help other people in similar situations to find the most effective path back to recovery. As part of that process, Errol is releasing a series of videos that show the challenges he has been experiencing and the incredible progress he is making.

Part 1 of Errol’s journey to recovery following his stroke

Mariana Arando, co-founder and teacher at Touch Tuina, has been a huge part of Errol’s recovery process from the very start. In the videos, she narrates Errol’s journey, from teaching the remarkable skill of Tuina to others, to helping people of all ages overcome ailments and impairments, to now overcoming his own new challenges. Through his own trials, Errol is carving new wisdom, showing that in recovery he is still teaching and committed to lifting others from pain and disability.

Errol’s progress in his recovery so far has been remarkable, astounding doctors, specialists and physiotherapists alike with his speed of improvement. He’s already been back working in the Kentish Town clinic, preparing herbs for patients and contributing to teaching sessions. As each day passes, he’s looking more and more like his former self. Errol is eternally grateful to everybody that has helped so far, including his own Touch Tuina team, as well as people like Indigo from the NHS Community Physiotherapist Rehabilitation Team.

Part 2 of Errol’s journey shows his incredible strength through rehabillitation

It’s a testament to Errol’s teaching and guidance that during his absence, the clinics have continued to thrive. With Mariana and the wonderful and dedicated team of practitioners that Touch Tuina has in its clinics, they have continued to be as busy as ever, and the glowing monthly testimonials that patients have been leaving online following their treatments highlights this brilliantly.

Errol will continue to document his recovery and plans to publish 2 more videos before the end of this year, which will chart his journey in full. Check back soon for the latest updates!
