Touch Tuina Practitioner – Adrian Skervin

Adrian comes from a sports and athletic background, so is only too aware of the types of injuries that can be picked up and how they can affect your performance if not put right. He is a qualified sports massage therapist and is highly skilled in helping people with all kinds of aches and injuries.

Adrian first took a keen interest into the mechanics of the body due to experiencing chronic musculoskeletal pain and internal issues. This came about due to working long hours, poor posture, excercising at the gym (over training and heavy weights), not stretching properly and poor diet. Then, one day, after seeing numerous specialists and practitioners from different disciplines, the penny dropped. He decided he needed to do more to help himself and become more proactive in his recovery.

Adrian began his training as a therapist in 2017, at the school of Natural therapies, where he completed an ITEC level 3 diploma in Sports Massage. Since then, he has been on a number of short CPD courses to continue his development as a therapist, including OMT Training, Dry Needling, John Gibbons (Cervical/Shoulder), ICAHT Clinic (Cupping and Soft tissue master class), Rockblade (IASTM), Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilisation and Watpo Thai massage school. He plans to continue CPD courses in the future, to further develop his skill as he continues on his journey.

In 2019, Adrian took an interest in TCM, Traditional Chinese Medicine, and began studying at the Touch Tuina clinic (STM). On completion of the course he continued studying and working as a junior practitioner and has since gone from strengh to strength in his treatment abilities.

Since completing his studying, Adrian has gone on to become a senior practitioner at Touch Tuina, working in the clinics two days a week, Mondays and Fridays.

Adrian likes to keep very active outside of clinic hours, attending a mixed martial arts gym where has recently started his Brazilian Jujitsu journey, yoga classes, weight training, meditation and jogging. With a wealth of his own practical experience, Adrian can relate to the vast majority of the issues and imbalances he has seen coming through the clinic doors on a day to day basis and will give his all to assist you in rebalancing yourself on every level.
